Carrier Scheduling Issues

Schedule Integrity in Turbulent Times

If you’ve been scratching your head lately at shifting vessel schedules, surprise delays, and irregular sailings, trust us — you’re not alone.

As you’re no doubt aware, the shipping world is in a bit of a storm right now, and it’s not just the weather. Carriers across the board are struggling with serious schedule integrity issues — and it’s not just one thing causing it. We’re navigating through a perfect storm of ongoing challenges:

  • The Red Sea crisis, throwing a major wrench into route planning
  • Port congestion in key seaports across Asia and Europe
  • Industrial action in multiple crucial ports between Europe and the Middle East/Asia

And yes, all of this is happening simultaneously.

What does this mean for you? In short: vessels are shifting their ETAs and ETDs almost daily. Carriers are sometimes executing Cut & Run operations — dropping and dashing to keep up with a broken rhythm. This creates backlogs, which slow down port operations even more. It’s a domino effect, and unfortunately, we’re all playing the game.

To make things trickier, some trades are now seeing sailings just 2-3 days apart, only to be followed by a 2-week gap until the next vessel. Not ideal — we know. But this is the reality we’re navigating. Add in constantly changing port rotations, and it’s no wonder transit times can vary wildly between two vessels on the same route.

Here’s What We’re Doing About It
First off: thank you. Really. Your patience and understanding mean a lot to us.

We want you to know we’re not just watching this play out — we’re in it with you. We’re constantly checking, rechecking, and updating schedules to find the best possible sailings. When there’s a gap, we do everything we can to fill it. When a better option appears, we jump on it.

Every move we make is with your cargo — and your customers — in mind.
